Cultural and natural Heritage Erasmus+

Hi everyone, I have just finished my Erasmus trip in the Czech Republic and I am really happy with what I have done. Both hosting and being hosted is a beautiful thing. I found myself in a very welcoming and prepared family. I also found some super friends with whom I shared a thousand memories that will always remain within me. The flower garden, Zlìn, Kromeritz chateau... are fantastic places that I will never forget. My favorite stop was the Velehrad church and the Modrá Archaeological Heritage Village There is an archaeological museum here, which shows what life was like in the Great Moravian State. From the Czech Republic I will certainly miss my host family and all my friends, even the long green meadows will remain in my heart, I will console myself with my beautiful sea in Sicily.   Nikolay, Bulgaria           To begin with, Kromeriz amazed me with its beauty. The architecture was incredible, you don’t see that beautiful buildings every day, it just took my breath away. The flower garden, oh it was amazing as well. I couldn’t believe how there is such an amazing garden with so much plants and how they take care of every centimeter of that garden. Then the story of the factory of Rudolf Jelinek. It was incredible. But mostly I was awestruck of the people. The Czechs are people with big hearts. You can talk with them about everything, they are cool and hospitable. They are so calm with sense of humor and you can always have fun with them. As a whole, I liked everything in Czech, I can’t say that I didn’t like something, everything was brilliant.   We really enjoyed the variety of places and experiences that we could experience on our Bulgarian mobility. For some of us the highlight was the Bulgarian nature - the Prachodna Cave was really impressive and it was a reward to experience it after a hike in the woods! Some of us liked Etar - an open-air museum where we could see a bit of the history of the region we were staying in with the traditional crafts and architecture. And some of us won’t forget the fun we had in the Museum of optical illusions, which was really funny. And on top of that: baking the local speciality at our hosting school, meeting future artists and trying to make our own sculptures and souvenirs (We don’t think we were very successful.) and then, meeting a real star of Bulgarian pop-music! We really think we tasted a variety of flavours of Bulgarian culture and nature and we will never forget! Thank you, Bulgaria for our Erasmus experience!   Team Czech Republic  

From the mobility in Crete, I was most impressed by our trip to the aquarium in the capital and the view we saw inside.  I saw fish, turtles and all sorts of different aquatic life that I had only heard of but not seen live.  I was very impressed with the shark we saw in the aquarium, because I had not seen such a thing.  There were other fish that were very interesting, but I don't remember what kind they were.  Jellyfish were also very interesting, they are beautiful creatures, but also dangerous.  We also saw the fish depicted in the children's film Nemo, which were very interesting and brought back childhood memories of the film.  For me, this was the place of rest that impressed me the most. Lyubomir I absolutely love everything about our Greek experience.One of my favourite town in Crete is Heraklion.The town is beautiful and it is near to the sea.The town has got so much museums.   The Greek mobility was more than amazing, and with the hospitality of the participants, it really felt like home. My host and his family were really kind and caring, it felt like I've been living with them for my whole life. The amazing programs were balanced pretty well with the free time, basically we learned a lot, but we weren't overwhelmed by the waves of information. I have to mention the beautiful landscape of Greece, especially the Cretan landscape. As a Hungarian, it was amusing to see mountains through the living room's window. And let's not forget about the cuisine. It's quite different from our cuisine, but not in a negative way. The different meats and salads are really well made, and the seasoning of the dishes is on point. All in all, I can't say anything bad about this trip, it was a wonderful experience.   Vanko Tarakchiev To begin with, that was it for me. It was a completely new and different experience for me. The excellent organization got my attention. Everything had been precisely planned and executed. The places we visited were fascinating and had remarkable histories. One of the things I enjoyed the most was when each country's cultural customs were presented. My great time in Sicily   Lora Radkovska Coming to Sicily, I knew that I was going to have an amazing time. However, my stay exceeded my expectations. Firstly, when I arrived I was warmly welcomed by the whole Rappazzo family. My host, Giulia, introduced me to her sister and her parents. Later that night, we had dinner together, where they served me one of the most signature Sicilian dishes – aranchini. On the next day, we visited one of the local schools where the students gave an astonishing musical performance. Then every country represented their cultural heritage with a video or a presentation. I learned so much not only for Sicily but for the other participants too. The next few days me and the other students visited many local sights such as Taormina, the local theater, the Town Hall. During my stay I was feeling more than welcome in my host family. Their hospitality made my visit unforgettable. This visit not only made me develop empathy for other cultures but also ...

  This trip gave me an opportunity to meet new people and get to know their culture more. I could practise English and learn new vocabulary words as well. During the time I spent there I made new friends and I still keep the contact with them to this day. I had the chance to visit different cities and saw different monuments. The mountains were a lot bigger and the landscape was beautiful everywhere. The sea was really clear and the view was breathtaking. Overall, I had a really good time in Sicily and I hope one day I can take part in another exchange program. Evelin   It was one of the best trips of my life. In the autumn part of the project we still cannot travel to realize the main activities. Therefore, we created some alternatives.  You can read our presentations of important sights of our countries here  and you can have a look at some virtual presentations of famous museums in the participant countries  here . Then you can test what you have learnt about the sights and museums in this  KAHOOT .

In one of the first stages of the project our task was to introduce our schools to our project fiends. So we created several teams. The first team worked on the script, the second team worked on filming the scenes, the third team worked on editing the video afterwards. We filmed all over our school and introduced almost all of our specialised classrooms. Then we put all of our footage together and we edited it. It was real fun to make this video. At the beginning of the project we wanted to introduce us with voice messages. We used the the internet tool called VOCAROO. Then we added them to the interactive photo in THINGLINK.        It's Friday, November 22nd, and all teachers are welcoming parents to the school for the first meeting of the year, the first meeting of the Erasmus cnher + program! A program, which requires cooperation and communication between European countries. The Czech Republic, Italy, Bulgaria and Hungary are countries with which we will share elements of our culture, our natural environment, our tradition and our daily lives. We will meet, we will communicate, we will educate, we will create, we will travel.       From the beginning of the school year, when the program was presented to students, the enthusiasm was widespread and the attendance was high.  Ideas quickly began to emerge, in a program different from anything we have seen in the past that undoubtedly inspires students' creativity and dexterity.     And the time has come for parents to get to know the project their children ...

We are pleased to announce that the General Lyceum of Melesses is participating in the European programme ERASMUS+ ΚΑ 229 School Exchange Partnerships (2019-2021) for the next two years. The programme Erasmus+ KA229, entitled “Exploring and Enjoying t he Natural and Cultural Heritage” , is a partnership of 5 European countries, co-ordinated by the Czech school Gymnazium Kromeriz and supported by partner schools in Hungary (Tamasi Beri Balogh Adam Katolikus Gimnazium, Kollegium, AltalanosIskola es Ovoda) , Bulgaria (Vasil Levski Comprehensive School) , Italy (Istituto Istruzione Superiore Liceo Medi) , and the General Lyceum of Melesses in Greece. The programme aims to cultivate a sense of respect to the natural and cultural heritage among participating students, teachers and the local community.
